Village at the Om Summer
Solstice Festival is a co-operative project comprised
of several not-for-profit organizations interested in
promoting sustainability, social justice, grassroots
democracy, non-violence, decentralization,
community-based economics, gender equality, diversity,
personal and global responsibility, and ecological
wisdom. The Green
Village will have fair trade coffee bar and workshop
on the Om
site, where festival attendees can relax, peruse
literature and discuss all green organizations and
concepts, or just rest out of the sun. The green village

Gathering, Rainbow Family July 31
to Aug 30, 2004, western Quebec. The Rainbow Family of
Living Light gathers in National Forests yearly to pray
for peace on this planet. Intentional community-building,

This is a large but entirely volunteer-run, non-corporate
music festival. Most of the music is high energy, but
there is also an acoustic stage. There are workshops on
grassroots and activist topics; a cooperative, community
kitchen; and camping accommodation. There are a variety
of ways to participate
or volunteer,
including the week of on-site preparations and camping
out. "The seventh annual outdoor camping experience
takes place between Guelph and Owen Sound, ON, with 8
stages, featuring over 200 schedule performances
including, Bluetech, Solar Field, Third Eye Tribe, Adham
Shaikh, Wassabi Collective. Plus keynote speakers:
Montreals activist Jaggi Singh (No One Is Illegal,
