Like working with young people? Like working with nature? Tap into your passion and help connect young people with nature through Stanley Park Ecology Society’s active, hands-on camping program.
The School Programs department of Stanley Park Ecology Society (SPES) connects over 6000 students in grades K-7 to nature each year. One of our most innovative programs is the Nature Ninjas Urban Camping, a two-day, overnight nature immersion for Grades 4 to 7 students in Stanley Park.
This program, which is led by qualified SPES staff, teaches students about forest, wetland and intertidal ecology, in addition to skills like cooking food, teamwork, and camping out. For more information about the program, please see: http://stanleyparkecology.ca/education/school-programs/nature-ninjas/
We are looking for six to twelve dynamic volunteers to help with daytime and evening programming for the Urban Camping season. This is an incredible learning opportunity for those wanting to boost their ecology knowledge or those wanting experience working with children. As a Nature Ninjas Camp Assistant, you will directly help connect young people to nature in a meaningful way.
The Nature Ninjas Camp Assistant must commit to working a particular shift each week for the entire season, April 20 through June 23. Priority may be given to applicants who are available for multiple shifts per week.
6 shifts available:
Training and orientation will occur on Monday, April 17, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
