Permaculture Yoga - Weekend Retreat, north of Guelph/Kitchener-Waterloo    Fri Jul 7 to Sun Jul 9, 2017, West Grey, ON

“Permaculture is yoga for the land, as yoga is permaculture for the body”
A Grand River Food Forestry and DustyMoon Permaculture Yoga Retreat
at Myrrkwood Haven, Bentinck Township, West Grey, Ontario

A small acreage offering a diverse collection of eco-systems, at Myrrkwood Haven you can wander the gardens full of medicinal plants, herbs and veggies, sit by the pond or campfire, dip your toes in the creek, meditate or read quietly in the woods or visit with an array of loveable farm ‘pets’.

Enjoy healthy, vegetarian meals, homemade iced teas infused with the magic of the sun and moon and delicious snacks.

Morning ‘earth’ yoga will wake up the body and energize the spirit; evening yoga will stretch out tired muscles and relax the mind.
Enjoy guided meditation with a focus on eco-spirituality (a deep love of the earth).

Invoke your inner muse with creative ceremony and sacred circles around the fire and in the woods.

Our daily routine of yoga and permaculture will allow you to connect with your body and the earth.

You will learn the “lasagna or no dig” gardening method which requires less weeding and less watering. Learn reliable techniques in how to create your own productive, restorative, eco-friendly property with little effort.

Permaculture finds the natural patterns of a site to minimize the inputs and maximize the outputs. Permaculture is a way of thinking ecologically, socially and economically.

During this special permaculture yoga weekend we will dive deep into ourselves and the connection within by virtue of the soil.
We will explore polycultures versus monocultures, pollinators and weed control, pest management and food forests through theory and hands on exercises:

1) Permaculture Ethics - Discussion
2) Permaculture garden – Hands on lasagna (no dig) garden bed
3) Food Forests - Observation exercise in a forest hike
4) Natural Patterns and Site Design – Creating property site maps

What to Bring: Trowel, shovel, Gloves, Hat, Smile, Tent or trailer
Our weekend adventure includes the following:
2 Days / 2 Nights at Myrrkwood Haven
3 Meals per day - healthy fresh cooking from the farm and local providers
